The newly set Record

After Manchester United just finished the previous season in which they had superbly set up a goal record, the Red Devils finished the month of August in the 2021-22 season with a brand new record.

Manchester United under the legend at the wheel Ole Gunnar Solskjaer just set up the new English football record of the longest undefeated away run at 28 games, a record previously held by Arsene Wenger's invincible Arsenal team between the 2003 and 2004 Premier League season at 27 games. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer equaled Wenger's record in their previous away game with a 1 all draw against Southampton at the St. Mary's Stadium. Solskjaer came later to beat this record on Sunday afternoon's fixtures against Wolverhampton Wanderers in a tough 1-0 win, a goal scored by Mason Greenwood to give the Red Devils 3 points.

The record breaking game saw the debut of Manchester United's newest Defender Raphaël Varane, who was able to set up a solid defense with the combination of Harry Maguire, ensuring that the Red Devils secured not only an undefeated game or 3 points, but equally ensuring the team's first clean sheet in the competition. Thus this game goes into the record books of not only Manchester United, but also into that of the Premier League as the game that set up the new record. And a game in which the Manchester United starlet Mason Greenwood scored his third goal of the Premier League, in his third consecutive game, ensuring that Greenwood has seen the back of the net in all his competitive games in the month of August.

Sunday's game wipes off Arsenal from the top of the away undefeated run record, placing the Red Devils in, thus a record which actually has the option to be extended given that the team has gotten an amazing squad for the season's football fest, and their star man Cristiano Ronaldo is still to make his debut for the Red Devils, coupled with the fact that Manchester United as of the previous season has always been superb in Premier League away games. Thus Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who experienced when this Premier League record was set up by the Gunners as a United player, should be bent on extending it after breaking it at Sunday's game.
