Manchester United's 2020-21 Away Kit Likened to the Zebra Movie 'Khumba'

The 2020-21 football season saw the Manchester United Football Club having a unique away kit with Zebra 🦓 stripes across its shirt in the front part. A jersey which in description could be though of being like that if Juventus or Newcastle United. But the jersey's own stripes were of different sizes across it from the top right to the bottom left, this looking like a real zebra making it different from the others. What made the jersey so  unique was the fact that this jersey type has never been used in United's history and no top flight European team had a jersey of this nature. This jersey made the team earn the nickname of 'Zebra FC' that season.

This jersey had more similarities to the 2013 cartoon movie 'Khumba' starred by Jake T. Austin. The movie 'khumba' is an animal cartoon movie shot in South Africa, with the hero of the movie (Khumba) being a zebra who was not as other zebras with stripes across their whole body but a zebra whose own stripes were just on the fore part of his body making him unique from the others. This incompletely striped body of Khumba made him to be called a 'Half Zebra' by the other zebras in the movie.

Just as the body of Khumba with stripes on the fore part of his body and the other part of his body being white, this is same as the 2021 Manchester United away kit with a Zebra striped front of the jersey and the back part of the jersey which hat the kit number and name was white and blank for fan jerseys with no name.

Another aspect of likeness of the movie to the team was the case in which in the movie 'khumba' the Zebra was criticized by the many other Zebras in its community for not being like them in appearance, and called him a Half zebra. This is equally the case with Manchester United wherein they were criticized by many others and even the jersey itself made the team to earn itself 'Zebra FC' in the season and were termed the zebras at some march days by critic social media fans.

In the movie, 'Khumba' the Zebra was the hero of the movie of which nothing was expected of him from the beginning. As such when the season started the Red Devils were criticized after losing their first game at home against Crystal Palace and also when they suffered a 6-1 home defeat to Tottenham, and more critics came at mid point of the season when they failed to make it to the Champions League knockout stage... And they were speculations surrounding the team that they were unable to beat a team of the big 6 (Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham, Liverpool), but at the second half of the season Manchester United were able to overturn these critics by beating most of the big six (including England's best of the time Manchester United), and equally recorded the biggest win that season (in a 9-0 win against Southampton), and the team ended made it to the Europa League finals after setting a European record being the first team to score 6 goals in a European semis (in a 6-2 win against AS Roma).

Thus just as Khumba the 'half' Zebra ended up doing what wasn't expected of him from the beginning in the movie, Manchester United the 'Zebra FC' ended up having a season which rival fans never expected 'the zebras' to have.
