Redemption Time!

The UEFA Champions League draws which were held on Thursday night where groups had been established for the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League saw many teams drawn to each other in the same group, being that these teams had encountered each other in previous European football editions.

This répétitions of events could be seen in cases like that of Bayern Munich and Barcelona in Group E (as it was the case in the 2019-20 Champions League semi final), Juventus and Lukaku's Chelsea in Group H (as the case in the 2019-20, 2020-21 Juventus - Inter Milan Serie A fixtures), Atlético Madrid and Liverpool in Group B (as it was the case in the 2019-20 Champions League Quarter final, as well as the 2020-21 Champions League round of 16), Manchester City and PSG in Group A (as of the case in the 2020-21Champions League semi finals), and my point of focus is that of Manchester United and Villareal in Group F (as the case in the 2020-21 Europa League final).

As it's the focal point, the UEFA Champions League Group F encounters is of interest given that this group is drawn with Manchester United alongside Villareal, Atalanta, any Young Boys of Berne. Thus in this group, there will be the seek of retribution given that three teams in this group have had recent history of victory and defeat in European events which are the Red Devils, Villareal and Young Boys. This history between the teams are in the even of the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League group stage clash between Manchester United and Young Boys, and the 2020-21 UEFA Europa League final clash between Manchester United and Villareal CF.

The retribution which we the fans are expecting from Manchester United is that between United and Villareal given that the former clash against them which was in the 2021 Europa League final ended in a highly regrettable loss for the Red Devils, an event that stimulated anger and mockery, and thus made Manchester United a laughing stock in England. Thus with United being drawn in the same group with Villareal could be a lucky golden opportunity for the Red Devils to seek vengeance against a side that luckily defeated them from a European finals. The clash between Manchester United and Villareal would be a chance for the team to humiliate the Spanish side given that they are going to play in two legs, coupled with the fact that Manchester United just got for itself an amazing squad from a quite fruitful transfer window for the Red Devils.

The Champions League Group F will not be an easy one for Manchester United given that besides Villareal, it is also going to feature Atalanta which is equally a top flight Italian side and has always survived this stage in recent editions, and also featuring Young Boys which is also a top flight Swiss side, who will equally be seeking for retribution given that they were defeated by the Red Devils in both legs in their previous clash. Thus there's real hope and certainty that Manchester United will sail through in this competition given that the team has set up an amazing squad from the summer transfer window.
