The First United Goal is the Euro Not a March Winning One

The on going Euro 2020 had no goal from a Manchester United player from its beginning until one of the games in the round of 16 phase which featured France against Switzerland.
The first goal from a United player in the Euros comes from the midfield star Paul Pogba scored from outside the box, which happened to be the goal of the day. This was the third goal of the day (After two earlier scored by Benzema in the start of the second half) which gave the French team a more comfortable 3-1 lead over the Swiss team mid way in the second half.

Unfortunately that goal from Paul Pogba which happened to be the last goal for the French team couldn't win the game for them given that the Swiss team were able to equalize closing up the 2 goals difference in the remaining part of the second half, thus pulling the game into extra time.

After the intensive two halves of extra time, the scores remained equal, there after leading to penalty kicks. The penalty kicks went smoothly until the fifth player for the French side, the PSG star Kylian Mbappe who was expected to equally the penalty score at the moment, but rather his shot was save by the Swiss keeper Yann Sommer, thus sending the French national team back home, and sending the Swiss side ahead to the quarter finals.

After such a dramatic event in the Euro being the first game of the competition to get to penalty kicks, we the United fans still hoped for more from Manchester United players in the competition, given that some are still left behind, though they aren't favorites.
