Manchester United had quite a season that ends up in a real disappointing style. The so far failed to win a trophy this season, after end as runners in the Premier League, end in the semis of the League Cup, quarter final of the FA Cup, Group stage of the Champions League, and at the final of the Europa League.
So far in the 2021 season, Manchester United lost to the teams that ended up winning the trophy in the knockout competitions. And as well ended without a trophy for the fourth season.
With the final competition which was the Europa League, many fans already forsee this to be Ole Gunnar Solskjær's first trophy as United's Manager before the game. Solskjær had urged the team to win it in honor of Sir Matt Busby.
Prior to the game at Gdansk, the had moral support from the fan community especially the community in Poland (who were confronted by fans of Legia Gdansk in certain occasion) and many others like the French team AS Monaco (who needed United to win in order to be part of next season's Champions League).
Manchester United's loss to Villarreal in the final is a very embarrassing one given that some Legends of the team like Sir Alex Ferguson, Wayne Rooney, were present in the stadium and in the course of the game they were some social media encouragements, especially that of Edwin Van Der Sar encouraging David De Gea to shine when the teams got into penalties.
Thus Manchester United failed to take on the chances during regular time, and the disappointment from the fans, the ream needs to be improved before the next season.
